Nabadda oo sal u ah jiritaanka umadda kasta, waxay u baahantahay ilaalin, dhawrid iyo weliba wacyi-gelin joogto ah oo umadda loogu sheegayo inay muhiim tahay wada-jirkooda iyo inay ka hortagaan waxkasta oo dhibaato ku ah xasiloonidooda. Suugaanleeyda Soomaalidu doorweyn ayey markasta ku leeyihiin nabad dhalinta iyo weliba daminta colaadaha iyaga oo adeegsanaya hibadooda suugaaneed. Xilliyo kala duwan ayey ka hadleen deegaano iyo meelo ay colaado ka jireen iyaga oo markasta dadka u sheegaya inay nabadda dhawraan oo ay wadajirkooda ilaashadaan. Suugaanta nooc ay tahayba way ku cabireen, Maanso, Gabay, Guurow iyo weliba farriimo kala duwanba.

Cabdillaahi Mire Dacar oo aad loogu yaqaanay magaca Shay  isla markaasna suugaanta dhinacyo kala duwan kaga jiray , sida eray samaynta , curinta laxanka iyo weliba ku luuqayntaba, wuxuu qaaday maansadan lagu magacaabo Hoy weeye nabaddu, taasi oo uu saaray laxan aad u soo jiidasho leh , ayna fududahay inay farriin ahaan gudubto.

Maansadan heesta laga dhigay nuxurkeedu wuxuu yahay in qofku fahmo doorka y nabaddu kaga jirto nolosheena iyo siday ay tahay in looga fogaado fitnada iyo wixii dadka kala fogaynaya.

Shay Mire wuxuu si faahfaahsan uga hadlayaa in qofku kala doorto markasta nabad iyo nabad darro oo ah laba arrimood oo aad u  kala fog ayna habboontahay sidii uu u noqon lahaa qof nabad doon ah kaasi oo nabadda naaxiya. Wuxuu si mugle uga hadlayaa in nabaddu tahay hoy iyo weliba gogol lagu fadhiyi karo kaliya intay ay iyadu jirto, inay la mid tahay guri hooyo  taasi oo waxa keliya ee bannaani ay tahay in la ilaashado.

Adoo hadhac qabow iyo

Hagar li’i ku jira nabad

Dhiishaadu hilantahay

Layskama harraatiyo

Fidno huruda weligaa

Lama hududo huddeeyo

Looma haadsho gacantee

Waa lagu hagoogtaa

Gogol lama huraaniyo

Sida hooyadoo kale

Hooy weeye nabaduye

Aan wada hanano

Aan isla hayno

Hareeraha aan qabano

Horumarni nabada

Dadku waa hal qudha

abidkoodba hiil iyo

hoodaba wadaagoo

aan kala hadhaynin

hal dhashoo na-deeqdiyo

nabaddu waa haleele

hawraarsan  dhahoo

hadhuubada u soo cula

Somali poets have always played an important role in bringing peace and ending conflict through their literary talents. At different times, they have composed poems about conflict in different areas, calling people to come together in peace using all kinds of songs, poems and other kinds of literature.

A good example comes from well-known poet Abdillahi Mire Dacar, also known as Shay Mire. He gave his poem Peace Is Your Home a deliberately catchy rhythm to help pass on this message of how maintaining peace requires vigilance and a constant effort.

The essence of his poem is to understand the role of peace in our lives and how to avoid strife and divisiveness.

Shay Mire talks in detail about the choice of peace or insecurity being the two fundamental issues to be considered by anyone who wants to truly promote peace. He goes on to say that peace is a home and a bed that can only be occupied as long as it exists; that it is like being in your mother’s house together which your family, which is something we all strive to protect.

When you are under the shade of a tree

In the cool, surrounded by peace

And no one is chasing you

You should look for conflict

Don’t call for war

Keep covered, keep quiet

It’s better to be somewhere safe

Like in your family home

Home is peaceful

Let’s keep it that way

And work on peace all around us

People are one

Let’s support each other forever

A community sharing the milk of one camel

Unbroken

Peace is all important

Let’s prepare the fire together

Together sterilise the haroob (milking equipment)
